Fused Electrical Co: from first job to a seven-figure electrical business
Fused Electrical Co is a family-run electrician in Canberra, started by two brothers with twenty years on the tools between them and no marketing at all. I built the growth engine from zero: the website, the visual content, the Google Ads lead generation and the SEO behind it, and I have run it since the first month of trading.

Ad spend as a share of revenue
Revenue from the business accounting system, August 2024 to September 2026. Ads figures from Google Ads for the same period: A$72,748 spend, 7,713 clicks, 1,334.5 conversions. Organic figures from Search Console.
The brief
Two electricians going out on their own, with a van, a licence and a name. No website, no ad account, no photos, no reviews, no history for Google to rank. The brief was simple: fill the diary, then keep it full while the business grew into a team.
Because there was nothing to inherit, every part of the engine could be built the right way round: positioning and site first, then paid search to buy demand immediately, then content and SEO to earn it over time.
Website
I designed and built fusedelectricalco.com.au to convert phone calls, not to win design awards. Service pages for the jobs that pay (switchboards, lighting, solar, emergency call-outs) and location pages for the Canberra suburbs the brothers actually cover, each with the call button in the thumb zone and the Google reviews beside it.
The site doubles as the landing page for every ad. Ad copy, page headline and quote form say the same thing, so a click never has to reorient itself.
Lead generation
Google Ads went live in the first month at a couple of thousand dollars a month and has stayed there since. Search campaigns are split by service and by suburb, with call-only ads during trading hours and form-led ads after, and every call and form submission tracked as a conversion.
Over twenty-six months the account has spent A$72,748 to produce 1,334 conversions at A$54.51 each. Against $2.3M of revenue in the same period, ad spend has run at about 3% of turnover, which is the number the brothers manage the business by.

Visual content
Tradies are hired on trust, and trust is visual. I photographed and filmed the team, the vans and finished jobs, and cut the footage into the site, the Google Business Profile and the ads. Real people on real sites in Canberra convert better than stock, and the same library feeds every channel.
SEO
Organic search is the newest channel and the one with the longest runway. With the service and suburb pages in place, the work has been Google Business Profile optimisation, review velocity, citations and a steady flow of job-based content.
Over the seven months to September 2026 the site earned 54,300 impressions and 598 organic clicks at an average position of 20.4, with impressions roughly doubling across the period. Still climbing, and every organic lead is one the ad budget does not have to buy.

Revenue
The first five months of trading in 2024 brought in $233k. 2025 closed at $1.06M. The first nine months of 2026 came to $1.03M, 60% ahead of the same nine months the year before, with April 2026 alone at $345k on a large commercial job.
That is a business that did not exist in July 2024, run by two people who wanted to be on the tools rather than in a marketing dashboard. The engine runs on about $2,800 a month in ads and a retainer for me.
